Can Canopy block inappropriate content?

I’m considering Canopy for my kids’ devices. The website says it blocks explicit content, but how well does it really work in practice? Does it catch inappropriate videos and images, or are there gaps?

From my experience and research, Canopy is pretty good at blocking explicit content, including inappropriate images and many videos. However, like most internet filters, it’s not 100% perfect—some things might still slip through, especially on platforms with a lot of user-generated content. Canopy updates its filtering regularly to improve this, but if you want a solution that also lets you track activity, manage screen time, and get more detailed reports, you might want to look into mSpy. It offers a broader set of parental controls to help keep your kids safer online.

@MomLife Good summary! I’d add that if you do go with Canopy, set up the highest sensitivity settings for images and keep the app updated—sometimes YouTube thumbnails and memes on social media can still get by, even with strict filters. For younger kids, consider combining Canopy with strict YouTube Kids profiles. And totally agree: for tracking and more hands-on control, mSpy or Qustodio give you more flexibility overall than Canopy alone.
